Mechanical Sales Company is an Independent Manufacturers Representative. Since 1970, we have served the industrial power transmission market by representing elite manufacturers of Industrial Power Transmission for the MRO and OEM markets.

The Team


Gord Jopling

MESACO (Mechanical Sales Company) was started by Gord’s father, Tom Jopling, in 1970. Following a successful professional sales career, Gord joined the family business in 2001 as a sales representative.  In 2007, Gord bought the business from his father and began a period of transition and re-branding. 


In his professional career he is most proud of the successful succession of the business. Despite the economic downturn of 2008-2009, MESACO was able to thrive and ultimately became stronger because of it.

His favorite part of the industrial power transmission industry is helping customers solve problems. The line card is built around high quality problem solving products. Solving problems together has allowed Gord to build excellent relationships with both his principles and customers.

·His favorite part about working at MESACO has been building a strong team and a winning culture. Gord loves to share in both the successes his team has and also in the challenges they face together.


Gord’s favorite quote is:

Gord is a husband and father of 2 children. He is proud of his commitment to a work/life balance which has allowed him to enjoy and share beautiful experiences with his family.


His favorite bands are U2 and INXS.  His favorite food is a beef tenderloin with garlic mashed potatoes as a side.  His guilty pleasure is Subway chocolate chip cookies.


In his leisure time Gord enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, and spending time on the water with his family.

Marc Veronneau

Sales Rep - Quebec and Maritimes

Marc Verroneau started his career in industrial power transmission in 1987 as a branch manager for GBS in Montreal. In his first 2 years he increased the revenue at the branch by 4 times! 

He earned the business of a large multi-national mining company in his local market. In the coming years he expanded the contract out of his local market and across all of North America. 

His favorite part of the industrial power tranmission industry is the variety of his day to day experiences. Marc is curious, asks a lot of questions, and loves to learn about his customers processes and business.

HIs favortie part about working for MESACO is the complementary product lines offered by the manufacturer's he represents and the ability it gives him to solve a variety of problems for his customers.

Marc's words to live by are:

                     "Listen more than you talk" 

Marc's favorite music is 70's rock and he is an avid vinyl collector. His favorite food is a surf and turf dinner and his guilty pleasure is talking about politics. 

In his leisure time Marc enjoys woodworking, painting, playing guitar and piano, reading books and watching movies.


Owen Johnson

Inside Sales/Warehouse Manager

Owen began his career in industrial power transmission in 1998 with a distributor in Barrio, Ontario. He started in shipping and receiving, was promoted to the front desk, and then into inside sales. 

He is always looking forward and is proud of his courage to make changes in his professional life/

His favorite part of the industrial power transmission industry is that things are always different and changing. He has been able to learn about a number of different products and services to support his customers. 

Owen's favorite quote is: 

                      "Nobody said life was easy...and Nobody was wrong" 

Owen is a proud husband for 30 years and a father of two children. His second job is taking his kids to hockey and cheer leading events and being their number one fan. 

His favorite band is U2 but lately he has also been getting into the music his kids like and his favorite foods are pizza and Subway sandwiches. 

His guilty pleasure is researching anything paranormal. In his leisure time Owen enjoys camping at Algonquin park with his family and golfing with his son.

Kevin Breadner

Kevin got his start in the power transmission industry in 1999 as a warehouse associate for a distributor in Mississauga. Being keen on the product lines and a quick learner, he progressed to inside sales after a year of service. Kevin spent the next two years there as an inside sales rep. 

His distribution customers took notice of the exceptional service they were receiving and recommended him to a major PT manufacturer that was in the market for good inside sales reps. Kevin made the move and spent the next 17 years partially on the order desk and then moving on to technical and sales based roles.

Kevin enjoys the variation of the day to day activities in the industrial marketplace. Being able to get an inside look and better understanding of how things are made and the inner workings of various manufacturing facilities is fascinating.

The vast array of people you will meet and develop relationships with are never ending. At the end of the day it is the people in any company that make the difference. Being part of their continuing journey is what it is all about.

Josh McCaughan
Sales Rep: South Western Ontario

Josh is one of our Technical Sales Representatives for SW Ontario. He brings 5 years of experience in distribution sales where he learned the in's and out's of the industrial power transmission industry, serving both end users and OEM's in multiple manufacturing fields. 


He takes pride in his curiosity and solution oriented attitude which he curated during the beginning of his career as a Mechanical Designer. Due to his success he was brought in enough design work to grow his team to 4 designers, leading him to transition into a leadership role as well as a customer-facing representative. Josh found gratification from being in the field working with customers directly, ultimately leading him to start a successful career in sales.


Outside of work, Josh maintains an active lifestyle by going to the gym and cycling during the summer. He also enjoys reading non-fiction books to improve his skills, working on small projects around the house, and keeping up to date with his passion for anything automotive.

Jennifer had worked in the legal industry for 20+ years, building an excellent background in business administration before joining MESACO.

Seeking a change of environment and a more positive work / life balance, Jennifer joined her husband Gord at MESACO in 2018. 

She enjoys the challenges at MESACO. The constant learning curve of the tasks and projects keeps her engaged.  

Jennifer's words to live by are:

In her leisure time she loves to be outdoors with her children. It is where she recharges. She has spent many years riding and working with horses. She also loves spending time with her dogs, a pair of Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
